In order to fulfill the Process Data and Report Results standard in the Research and Information Fluency catagory, I produced a blog entry entitled "Bambi: A Lesson in Hypocrisy." In my entry I studied and then interpreted data from a magazine article about hunting. I reported results from the data along with my ideas on the matter. The blog helped me learn to look at others' thoughts and reflections and incorporate them into my own ideas and actions.

Inquiring/Research

I used research to address the question, "Does the media undermine aspects of American virtue?" This research fueled my first-term research paper assignment. I made judgments about the credibility of my sources and communicated ideas in a way to suit a young audience--my peers. I used a tone which would persuade people to consider my thoughts on the subject. I used this essay to fulfill the Research/Inquiry Process standard. My paper also helped me fulfill many aspects of the Research and Information Fluency standard. I "located, organized, analyzed, evaluated, synthesized, and ethically used information from variety of sources and media." My ethics show through my use of citations and and a works cited page. By writing the paper and including my own ideas and many ideas from other places, I fulfill this standard. I also had to "evaluate and select information sources and digital tools based on the appropriateness to specific tasks." In order to research the subject of my paper thoroughly, I had to select good sources with legitimate and bountiful information.
