The vocabulary paragraphs I already mentioned on the Writing page helped me to develop my writing, but they also helped me to improve my Vocabulary, Word Study, and Fluency. This is a standard under the Reading catagory which helped me to acquire and apply skills in vocabulary development and word analysis. Completing these paragraphs helped me to be able to read fluently. I incorporated new vocabulary words within my own writing to help me truly understand and use the words. This helped my own writing, while helping me to understand the diction of others.

In my most recent Style Analysis Essay, I read a speech by Virginia Woolf. I then analyzed and began to grasp a greater understanding of the written work. Through this essay, I fulfilled the Foundations of Reading and Comprehension standards under the Reading catagory. I developed an understanding for the relationship between spoken words and print, since this was a speech widely distributed as a printed publication. I noticed a relationship between Woolf's style and diction and her preparation for future audiences. I also used a timed strategy to read the material and improve my comprehension.
