Technology Continued...
To fulfill the Creativity and Innovation standard within the National Educational Technology Standards for Students asking for identification of trends and forecasting of possibilities, I wrote a blog post titled, "Achieving that 'Man Smell.'" In the post, I identify certain trends within the presidential race, the role of white men in the election, and the way modern cadidates campaign. I also forecast possibilities, new ways for certain groups to open their minds, and the possibility that white men do, in reality, hold the most power.
The Digital Citizenship Standard asks for a demonstration of personal responsibilty for lifelong learning. I show my need to keep learning by keeping a wishlist on Amazon.com. My wishlist includes titles that I hope to read throughout this school year and into the summer. These novels are not required, but many are classics and will help me next year in AP Lit. Some of the titles are just for fun, but I believe that all reading leads to learning.
The Communication and Collaboration catagory calls for "developing cultural understanding and global awareness by engaging with learners of other cultures." I proved completion of this standard by engaging a reader from Canada on my blog. The reader did not even know an election was going on in the U.S., but after reading my blog post about Hillary Clinton, she was aware of the issue. I helped contribute to her global awareness.
