Technology

In a blog post, "Britney Spears: The Educator of Tomorrow," I explored a need to use more that just books in the classroom. I acknowledged the fact that America is a quickly changing place with new technologies popping up everywhere. I used a positive attitude towards technology to lead educators towards using technology in the classroom. With this blog I fulfilled two standards within the Digital Citizenship catagory: b. exhibit a positive attitude toward using technology that supports collaboration, learning, and productivity and d. exhibit leadership for digital citizenship.

I mentioned a presentation on an advertisement earlier on the Oral and Visual Communications page. This presentation helped me meet Communications standards, but it also helped my group "understand and use technology systems" (power point). This is a standard under the Technology Operations and Concepts catagory. I also proved that I can "select and use applications effectively and productively." This is a standard within the Technology Operations and Concepts catagory. I chose to use power point because I knew that it would provide a way to create a simple and attractive presentation that would not intimidate or bore my audience. The presentation went on without problems, showing that I was effective and productive.

I used my prior experience with Facebook to help me learn to use my learnerblogs.org blog. Facebook and my blog have similar comment tools. Using these websites together also allowed me to better troubleshoot systems and applications. I also "transferred my current knowledge" of Facebook "to [my] learning of new technologies." Common Facebook problems often pop up on learnerblogs.org. I thus fulfilled the Troubleshooting Systems and Transfer Current Knowledge standards under the Technology Operations and Concepts catagory.
